Conservation Biologyin Wilderness It is said that Wilderness provides wild places for wild things to be wild. What are the wild things, how do they live, and what issues do they face? We explore the land, the organisms, and the impacts of human activities through the field of conservation biology. Conservation biology is the science of examining the interface of humans and natural resources, and measuring the impacts affecting biological diversity. Conservation biology incorporates the human components relevant to conservation efforts. If we understand the biology behind ecosystems and the diversity of species supported, as well as the social and political realities on the ground, we can apply this informationto conserve our living organisms and the healthy ecological systems in which they thrive. The Conservation Biology pages below are dedicated to Nevada’s wildlife andthe issues that influence their conservation. Because our work is never done, we will continually add to these pagesas life goes on. Please note that this page is currently being created anddeveloped.
