In our continuing efforts to join the 21st Century, NWP is excited to announce the launch of our new blog, Weethump! Weethump is the place to learn about all the latest happenings and issues in Nevada's wilderness statewide. This is also the place for YOU to share your wilderness stories, adventures, thoughts and feelings statewide. If you've had an adventure or recently visited an area that you're excited about, tell us and everyone else via Weethump.
Why the name Weethump? Simply because Weethump has come to represent "the little wilderness that could." Nestled deep in Clark County the Weethump Wilderness Area was one of our largest successes in the 2002 Clark County Campaign. A 6,000 acre Joshua Tree forest, Weethump had no love or special designations before we inventoried it. Slowly though people began to rally around the "J Trees" and the idea that this was a special and wild place. Through our collective efforts the Weethump Wilderness Area exists today. We hope to harness that energy in our blog and encourage others to take an active interest in their backyards through your stories and photographs.
If you have questions regarding Weethump or are having difficulty reaching or posting there, please contact Cameron.
