Bret Birdsong - Board Chairman- Las Vegas, NV
Professor Birdsong teaches Environmental Law at the William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He earned his J.D. degree from the University of California, Hastings College of Law in 1993. After clerking for a judge of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, Bret joined the U.S. Department of Justice, Environment and Natural Resources Division, as a trial attorney focusing on public land and natural resources litigation from 1994-2000. Since moving to Las Vegas in 2000, he has learned to point his car away from the Strip, where he enjoys the public lands with his partner, Anne, and his son, Jacob. He is an avid flyfisher.

Brian O'Donnell - Vice President - Durango, CO
Brian leads Trout Unlimited’s (TU)Public Lands Initiative. Before joining TU in April, Brian worked for The Wilderness Society, where he led campaigns, including those in Nevada, that resulted in the protection of more than 2 million acres of wilderness. Brian also worked to safeguard Alaska’s wild places as Executive Director of the Alaska Wilderness League. He earned a B.A. in Economics from Rollins College in 1993. Brian, his wife Melyssa, and their dog Paco spend their free time exploring the rivers and mountains near their home in Durango, CO.

Lynn Schiek - Treasurer/Secretary - Incline Village, NV
Lynn is currently working as a Information Systems Consultant and private investor in the Lake Tahoe region.  She spent a decade managing and integrating hardware and software development projects for data communications companies in the San Francisco Bay Area. Since moving to Lake Tahoe in 2004, Lynn and her husband John, enjoy hiking, backpacking, cross country skiing and spending as much time as possible on Nevada's wild and public lands.

Tori King - Las Vegas, NV
Originally from southern California, Tori has lived in Las Vegas for ten years. She is Director of On-Premise for Nevada for Fiji Water in the Las Vegas Valley. Tori was instrumental in the passage of the Clark County Lands Bill in 2002. When she’s not busy at one of her jobs, Tori enjoys belly dancing and spending time with her two cats, Toby and Trixie.

Chris Todd - Huntington Beach, CA
Chris heads the retail and online marketing efforts for Quiksilver. His love of the desert and wilderness stems from growing up in several National Parks where his father was a ranger. He spent five years in the U.S. Coast Guard and is a registered radiologic technologist. He graduated from Sonoma State University in Cotati, California with a degree in economics.

Jill S. Heaton - Reno, NV
Professor Heaton is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography at the University of Nevada, Reno. She is an arid lands ecologist with expertise in the areas of herpetology, GIS, habitat modeling, and spatial statistics. Her research typically centers on issues related to land use and conservation, specifically as related to reptiles. Jill loves the outdoors, especially the arid landscape, and enjoys hiking, backpacking, snowshoeing, dog sledding, fishing, kayaking, and diving. She is also very active in the martial art of Jujitsu.

Rene Valladares - on leave- Las Vegas, NV
Rene grew up in Nicaragua; a beautiful country of lakes, volcanoes and mind-boggling bio-diversity.Unfortunately, Nicaragua's beautiful resources have been thoughtlessly sold to the highest-bidder. This sad fact made Rene keenly aware of the moral imperative we all share to preserve wilderness. Rene lives in Las Vegas where he is an Assistant Federal Public Defender fighting so that the indigent get a fair shake at the criminal justice system.One of his favorite places on earth is Red Rock National Conservation Area where he has spent many hours hiking.
