T_Roemer_charleston_webAll the work we do is guided by our five-year strategic plan and organized in three conservation program areas: Linking Landscapes for Wildlife; Climate Change, Energy and Wildlands; Special Landscapes.

Here is what we're working on now:

•  Solar Energy Zones / SPEIS - the BLM's latest effort to plan for solar energy development on Nevada's (and other western states) public lands.

•  Renewable energy projects called fast-tracks and priority projects.

•  "Smart from the start" approach to renewable energy development and habitat protection.

•  The SWIP Trip - an exploration of a 500-mile long transmission line in eastern Nevada.

•  Wilderness and Habitat - legislative opportunities, wildlife corridors and current wilderness campaigns.
