Dear NWP member:

I'm writing to let you know that after 13 years of keeping the beer cold and state wild, the Nevada Wilderness Project is closing its doors. Our Board made this difficult decision on Jan. 26, 2013 in response to a couple of major developments - the departure of our Executive Director and other key staffers, and the uncertainty over future funding. Consequently, we have decided to cease all fundraising and have decided to wind down and dissolve the Nevada Wilderness Project over the next several months.

We have had a lot of success over the years, and owe a lot of that success to you. You will still run into many NWP staffers in the coming months as we wind down our work and take on new challenges in our continuing efforts to protect Nevada's wild places and wildlife. The Board and Staff would like to thank you for your generous support, and we encourage you to continue your good work by supporting the many wonderful organizations that advocate for Nevada's wild lands and wildlife.

The Nevada Wilderness Project is retiring with the knowledge that with your support we have helped permanently protect more than 3 million acres of wilderness in Nevada. What's more, we have helped protect Nevada's amazing landscapes and wildlife for countless Nevada citizens and visitors. We're very proud of all that we've we have accomplished in the last 13 years. We couldn't have done it without you!

Again, thank you for your past support.

Regards,

Debra Bookout

Board President
