Our long-range vision for Nevada includes:
- Preserving spectacular and wild landscapes in Nevada forever.
- Inspiring people to respect wildlife, value their habitats and support stewardship based on sound scientific research.
- Solving the climate crisis without exacerbating the loss of wildlife habitats and biological biodiversity.
- Recruiting, mentoring and supporting conservation leaders throughout the state.
We’ve been doing this work since 1999, and our success is due in large part to our core values and culture. As members of the staff, board and as volunteers of the Nevada Wilderness Project, we:
- Are committed to vigilant and thoughtful advocacy for Nevada’s wildlands and to empowering ourselves and others with tools to affect change.
- Base decisions on what is best for the land and on what makes sense on the ground.
- View the future with optimism and a focus on solutions, striving to turn obstacles into positive opportunities.
- Expect honesty, integrity, trust and respect from each other and develop outside relationships based on these values.
- Have fun.
